STUDIO POLICIES

Welcome to Lone Star Dance Co.

We're so excited to welcome your family to Lone Star Dance Co.! Our mission is to provide high-quality dance education in a positive, encouraging environment where every student can grow in confidence, technique, and character. We believe every dancer deserves individual attention, which is why we intentionally keep our class sizes small. Thank you for trusting us to be part of your child's journey. We can't wait for an incredible season together!

Tuition & Billing

Tuition is charged to reserve your child's place in class, not for the number of classes they attend. If your child misses a class for any reason, you will still be responsible for the full monthly tuition. Refunds, credits, makeup classes, and prorated tuition will not be provided. Monthly tuition is due on the 1st of each month and will be automatically processed through your account unless otherwise arranged. Payments received after the 5th of the month will incur a late fee.

If you wish to withdraw from classes during the August-May season, written notice must be submitted by the 15th of the month prior to cancellation. If notice is not received by the 15th, your student will remain enrolled and you will be responsible for the following month's tuition.

A $45 annual registration fee is billed on the anniversary of your enrollment each year.

EXPENSES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR

Class Tuition: Starting at $65 per month

Annual Registration Fee: $45 per family (billed once per year)

Recital Fee: $20 per student (added to your account in January)

Recital Costume Fee: $50 per class enrolled (one costume per class)

Attendance & Makeup Classes

Consistent attendance is essential for student progress and performance preparation. If your child will be absent, please notify the studio as soon as possible by email or text.

Each student is allowed two makeup tokens per dance season (August-May). Makeup classes are subject to class availability and must be used within 30 days of the missed class. Makeup classes cannot be carried over into a new season and have no cash value.

No makeup classes or refunds will be given for studio closures due to weather, holidays, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Students with excessive absences may be required to schedule private lessons at the family's expense to learn missed choreography and may be excluded from performances if they are not adequately prepared.

Dress Code

Proper dance attire helps instructors safely monitor technique and movement.

Dance students should wear fitted dancewear or leotards appropriate for their class. Ballet students should have ballet shoes, ballet/tap students should also bring tap shoes, and jazz or lyrical students should wear jazz shoes or half soles as instructed. Dance & Twirl students should wear fitted athletic or dancewear with jazz shoes or clean athletic shoes when requested.

Hair should always be secured away from the face before class begins. Jewelry should be kept to a minimum for safety.

Student Expectations

Every student plays an important role in creating a positive classroom environment. Students are expected to arrive on time, listen carefully, follow instructor directions, participate with a positive attitude, and treat fellow students, instructors, and studio property with kindness and respect.

Food, gum, and drinks other than water are not permitted inside the studio.

Lone Star Dance Co. maintains a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, unsafe behavior, or repeated disruptions. Inappropriate behavior may result in parent communication and, if necessary, removal from class.

Parent Observation

Because we are a one-room studio, parents are welcome to quietly observe classes from inside the studio. We simply ask that conversations be kept to a minimum, phones remain silent, and students are not distracted during instruction.

If an instructor feels a student's focus is being affected by a parent's presence, families may be asked to observe from outside the classroom or from their vehicle.

Communication

Communication is extremely important to us. Families will receive studio updates through email, text messages, social media, and our Band App when applicable.

Please ensure your contact information remains current in your parent portal.

If you need to speak with an instructor regarding your child's progress or concerns, please contact us outside of class hours so we can give you our full attention.

Weather & Emergency Closures

Lone Star Dance Co. generally follows Liberty Hill ISD regarding weather-related closures. In certain situations, the studio may choose to close independently if conditions are unsafe.

Families will be notified as early as possible through email and text messaging. Because these closures are beyond our control, makeup classes and refunds are not available.

Performances & Recital

Community performances are optional but highly encouraged. These opportunities help students gain confidence, experience performing, and become more comfortable on stage.

Our annual recital is an important part of every student's dance education and is considered the culmination of everything learned throughout the season. Participation is expected for all enrolled students.

Students participating in performances or recital must maintain regular attendance and attend all required rehearsals.

Costume fees and recital fees are non-refundable once costumes have been ordered or payments have been made.

Health & Safety

Students who have a fever, vomiting, or any contagious illness should remain home until they have been symptom-free for at least 24 hours without medication.

Parents are responsible for ensuring students arrive and are picked up promptly. Lone Star Dance Co. is only responsible for students during their scheduled class times.

Only clean dance shoes may be worn on the dance floor to help protect our flooring.

Photography & Media Release

Throughout the season, Lone Star Dance Co. may photograph or record classes, rehearsals, performances, camps, and studio events for promotional purposes, including social media, our website, printed materials, and advertisements.

Enrollment grants permission for the use of these images unless written notice is provided to the studio.

Our Commitment

At Lone Star Dance Co., our goal is to help every dancer leave class feeling challenged, encouraged, and proud of what they've accomplished. We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming environment where students build not only strong technique, but confidence, friendships, and a lifelong love of dance.

Thank you for being part of the Lone Star Dance Co. family. We can't wait for an amazing season together!
